Kotido Man Arrested for Injuring Camels

A man in Kotido Municipality has been arrested for injuring two camels.

Loile Engatuny, a resident Western Compound, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly spearing and injuring two camels belonging to Sukuzan Hadijah. The wounded camels were bleeding profusely after Engatuny speared each once in the belly.

The two animals were later treated by veterinary official Dr. Joseph Longoli.  Dr Longoli said it was too early to know the extent of internal damage caused to one of the animals under her gestation period.

In a related development, two people are in police custody for illegal possession of wildlife meat. LongoriaLopira, 35 and Locham Pelichia are being held at Kotido Central Police Station for killing the Uganda Kob.

Their luck ran out when they were found with the meat on their way to sell it in Kotido town.

The OC Deputy OC CID Kotido Central Police Station John Francis Olupot said the file will be sent to the Resident State Attorney for sanctioning.
