Kampala bar owners under their umbrella, Legit Bar, Entertainment and restaurant owners association have entered a partnership with Uganda Breweries limited and the Ministry of Health to speed up COVID-19 vaccination.

The drive is meant to increase the number of vaccination points in the Kampala Metropolitan Area for more people to get access to the available vaccines.

Under the initiative, UBL, entertainment places will support the scaling up of COVID-19 mobile sites in Kampala by sensitizing and mobilizing the public to go and get vaccinated against COVID-19.

So far vaccination points have been set up at Kyandondo Rugby Grounds and Samitto bar and Lounge in Naalya. On Friday more than 100 people especially waiters and waitresses from different bars turned up to receive their first and second doses.

Jacob Bugembe Yasin, a former bartender at a bar in Bukoto is among those who received their first AstraZeneca dose at Kyadondo Rugby grounds. Bugembe asked other waiters and waitresses to turn up for the vaccination.
