Excitement Ahead Of Besigye's Dokolo Rally

There is excitement among supporters of presidential candidate, Rtd. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye ahead of his campaign rallies in Dokolo town council.


The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) flag bearer is expected to address three campaign rallies in Dokolo district.

Julius Peter Okello, the Dokolo district FDC Party chairperson says Dr. Besigye will address voters at Corner Agwata trading centre in Agwata sub-county, Aderolongo Primary School in Batta sub-county and another at Angwecibange Primary School in Dokolo town council. Besigye is also expected visit Kangai historical sites, where Kabaka Mwanga and Omukama Kabalega were captured by the British colonialists in 1899.

Many residents are already gathered at Angwecibange Primary School, and are expectantly waiting for Besigye.


45-year old Morris Okello, a resident of Amwoma sub-county says he expects Dr. Besigye to talk about how he will combat poverty among rural dwellers, especially farmers.


Agnes Adong, a resident of lguli parish in Amwoma sub-county expects Besigye to tell voters how he will empower peasant farmers and small medium traders in the area.

In 2011 Besigye got 32% of the votes, while President Yoweri Museveni got 59% of votes in Dokolo district.
