There was excitement among National
Resistance Movement - NRM LC 1 and LC 11 chairpersons in Kyenjojo district as
they received their long awaited bicycles that the party is giving out countrywide.
During a function that took place at
the Kyenjojo district headquarters on Friday afternoon, the chairpersons
received 1,017 bicycles.
Mitoonya village chairperson, Oliver
Kemigisa, said chairpersons have been finding it difficult to move around the
villages and with the new bicycles, she said the challenge was going to be
overcome.

David Nyakaana , the LC 1 Chairperson
of Kabaale B village, said he was overwhelmingly excited that that the party he
has served for over 15 years has finally thought about him.
Nyakaana noted that he will use the
bicycle to do the party activities and other things that he is mandated to do
as a village leader.
The Kyenjojo District Deputy
Resident District Commissioner, Joseph Sekasamba, urged the leaders to use the
bicycles to run party activities and monitor government programs.
He, however, warned them against
using the bicycles as collateral security for loans or selling them off, saying
the party will punish whoever is found culpable.
