Uganda’s representatives in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Express FC
last night lost 1-0 away to Sudan's Al Merreikh to bow out of the competition.
Express FC went into the return leg of the first preliminary round of the tie with a 2-1 advantage, however the lone goal netted by Ahmed Hamid Al-Tash was enough to see the Sudan team advance to the next stage.
Although the two teams tied 2-2 on aggregate, Al Merreikh qualified on a better away goal's rule since they scored a goal in Kampala.
Express FC Head coach Wasswa Bbossa said he can’t blame
his players because they put up a good show, but were not lucky to get the goals.

URA FC will now face Egyptian side Al Masry in the second preliminary round next month. The first leg will be played in Kampala between October 15-17th, while the return leg in Egypt will take place between October 22-24th.
