Express Football Club has revived its fan base in Greater Masaka Region as it seeks to regain its past glory a month after their rivals, Sports Club Villa returned to the area. Uganda Premier League leaders Sports Club Villa shifted base to Masaka Recreation ground last month.

It also established a fan base and appointed local businessman, Henry Mulinde as regional chairperson. A month later, rivals Express FC have also embarked on reviving its fan bases in Bukomansimbi, Kalungu, Lwengo and Masaka districts.

Masaka Regional Express FC fan base chairperson, Emmanuel Lwasa and Express Chairperson, says they are focusing on reviving all local fan bases because they have a big impact in sustaining the club. She says they first opened the fan base in Bukomansimbi and have now moved to Masaka district.

According to Nakiwala, Masaka had the biggest fan base for Express Club but they somehow lost touch. Nakiwala says they are now looking forward to making Express FC great by reviving the fan bases by making it more visible. Masaka Regional Express FC fan base chairperson, Emmanuel Lwasa, says he quit Villa FC because they never appreciated his contribution to the club.

Lwasa says he decided to inject money in Express FC because it has shown commitment and respect for him.
