Express Shift Focus to Premier League After Advancing In Uganda Cup

Express FC has switched focus to the 2020/2021 Star Times Uganda Premier League race after they advanced to the semi final of the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Friday.

The Red Eagles Express FC ejected KCCA FC on Friday after a 1-1 draw at MTN Omondi stadium in Lugogo. The draw meant that Express qualified on an away goal rule after they drew goalless in the first at Wankulukuku Stadium.

Martin Kiiza converted a late penalty to make sure Express make it to the next stage. Sadat Anaku had scored in the first half for the home side KCCA FC.

Now, Wasswa Bbossa, the Express FC head coach Express has said his team is now switching focus to Uganda Premier League where they need to win all their games left in a bid to secure silverware.

Express are the leaders of the tightly competitive Star Times Uganda Premier League with 58 points in 26 games. URA FC are second with 57 points, while Viper SC are third with 56 points. 

The Red Eagles are four games away from winning the championship. They will visit Wakiso Giants before they play MYDA, Bidco FC and KCCA FC. The Wankulukuku based team is looking for their first silverware since 2012.
