Kasasira says 13 victims in the taxi were left with serious injuries and rushed to Itojo hospital were they are admitted.

Kasasira explained that the driver of the Subaru was coming from Mbarara heading to Ntungamo while it was raining. He further explained that when the driver of the Subaru approached Kahunga trading center running water had covered the road on his lane so he decided to drive on the right, causing the head on collision with the taxi.

James Rukundo, a taxi broker at Kahunga stage said that because of the heavy rains the drainage system got filled up floods submerged the road one side noting that the two drivers from both vehicles driving on a high speed wanted to use the only side of the road that was not submerged causing the terrible accident.
