A father from Mukono
district is in trouble for allegedly beating his daughter to death for eating
his food he had parked from a party.
Isma Ssesanga, a
resident of Kasawo village in Kasawo Sub County in Mukono District is locked up
at Naggalama police station.
He accused of beating up his 10-year-daughter, Salama
Nassanga on Sunday night leading to her death.
The Deputy
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, says preliminary
information shows that Ssesanga first beat up his two sons before he pounced on
the deceased.
Despite the fact that Ssesanga claims that his daughter died while trying to
run way from being beaten, residents insist that the suspect assaulted the
young girl killing her on the spot.
According to Owoyesigyire, Ssesanga claims that the deceased decided to run away when
she saw him beating her young brothers and knocked a hard object.

Trouble started after Ssesanga returned from a neighbor’s
party with food. He reportedly moved out of the house and returned around 9pm.
Ssesanga directed the children to bring the
food so that he serves them but they told him that they had already eaten it.
It is alleged that Ssesanga
grabbed the two boys and started whipping them before he turned the anger on
their elder sibling, Nassanga. Owoyesigyire says Nassanga’s body has
been taken Kayunga hospital for postmortem to establish the cause of death.
Ssesanga was living
with his three children. Police couldn’t establish where the children’s mother
had gone.
The incident comes three
days after Old Kampala police arrested a woman identified as Norah for
allegedly stabbing to death her husband, Bob Matovu over meat.
The two were residents of Kayanja zone in Rubaga Division in
Kampala. Residents claim that the suspect picked up a knife and stabbed Matovu
in the chest, neck and back blaming him for eating her meat.
The
landlord and other neighbors tried to save Matovu’s life by rushing him to
Rubaga hospital where he was pronounced dead hours later.
