Father Poisons Self, Daughter

The deceased's estranged wife, Faith Namatende, says that she parted ways with Lubogo because of endless violence. "We were embroiled in domestic-related violence. I resolved to abandon my matrimonial home early this year, but, I never imagined that Lubogo was capable of doing such a thing," she said.
Police in Luuka district are investigating circumstances under, which 34-year-old Paul Lubogo decided to end his life together with that of his three-year-old daughter, Janet Baseka, on Tuesday night.

The duo’s lifeless bodies were found lying on the floor of their living room in Inuula village in Ikumbya Sub County.

According to the residents, Lubogo is said to have laced food with poison before serving himself and his daughter.

Acting Luuka District Police Commander, Kennedy Ochaya says that the food samples collected from two plates found near the deceased confirmed traces of poison.

Ochaya has married couples to seek counselling from elders and local authorities whenever they find marital challenges.
