The police in Hoima city are investigating the circumstances surrounding
the death of Andrew Kyalisiima, 30, an aspirant for councillor Western ward in Hoima West Division, on the Forum for Democratic Change
(FDC) ticket.
Kyaliisima’s body was discovered inside his house situated in Kiryatete West cell, a Hoima city suburb, on Thursday morning after he reportedly
went missing for two days.
Godfrey Mucwa, the area LCI Secretary for defence, told
Uganda Radio Network (URN) in an interview that Kyalisiim, who was staying alone at his home, had not been seen in the area for the last two days.
He says residents became suspicious after Kyalisiima had not been seen in the area for two days.
According to Mucwa, residents, with the help of area leaders, forcefully broke into Kyalisiima’s house only to find his lifeless body lying inside
his house.
They immediately alerted the police, who rushed to the area to commence
investigations.
Moris Mwebaza, a resident says, they got concerned after
Kyalisiima had been missing for two days from the area yet his door was locked.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, says no injuries had been inflicted on the deceased at the
time police picked up his body.
