Patrick Batuma a businessman in Rukungiri town and a staunch FDC supporter says that they have embarked on mobilizing their friends in the district, Kampala and the entire country to mobilize resources for their candidate.

The fundraising drive comes barely days after president Museveni donated cash and Items worth 5 billion shillings to groups in the district. The items included; vehicles, motorcycles and carpentry machinery, among others.

Opposition politicians accused the President for using the items to rally support for the National Resistance Movement- NRM party candidate Winnie Mastiko.

The seat for Rukungiri Woman Member of Parliament fell vacant last month after Muzanira successfully challenged the election of Mastiko as the woman MP for Rukungiri district.
