Elias Mugisha and his wife, Annet Tusasibwe, both residents of Rusikizi-Rwere village in Muyanje
in Bubaare Sub County, say their son, Kevin Musimenta disappeared in August 28th when he went for holiday teaching at Kigezi High School Primary in Kabale Municipality.
A couple in Rubanda district is in fear following the disappearance of their 13-year-old son.
Elias Mugisha and his wife, Annet Tusasibwe, both residents of Rusikizi-Rwere village in Muyanje in Bubaare Sub County, say their son, Kevin Musimenta disappeared on August 28, between their home and Kigezi High Primary School in Kabale Municipality, where he had gone for holiday classes.
Tukwasibwe says they waited for Musimenta to return home in vain. A teacher only identified as Kenneth later informed them that the pupil left school at around 10 a.m. after attending a lesson.
Tusasibwe says she later received a call from someone using a number registered in the names of Amon Muhanguzi claiming to know the whereabouts of their son. The caller asked for 10,000 Shillings to enable them to transport the boy home, but the line was switched off after the money was sent.

Elias Mugisha, the father of the missing child says the disappearance of their son has left them in fear since the case is happening at the height of kidnaps and murders across the country. He says that they have already reported a case of a missing person to police.

Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate says their efforts to trace for the missing child haven’t yielded results. He calls upon the general public to help police with information regarding Musimenta’s disappearance.

Moses Bwengye Tumijukye, the Kabale District Inspector of Schools, says the disappearance of the teenager is unfortunate and prays that the pupil is recovered alive.
Bwengye faults Kigezi High Primary School management for teaching during holidays in contravention of the directives from the Education and Sports Ministry.

David Byamugisha, the head Kigezi High School primary refutes claims that Musimenta disappeared while at school since the school wasn’t operating during holidays.
Byamugisha says that Musimenta has been an average performer and regular absentee.
