Final Year Nursing Student Found Dead

Omara, who hails from Amolatar District, met his death on Sunday afternoon when he left school for shopping.

A final year student at Jerusalem School of Nursing and Midwifery in Gwengabara village in Angweta-ngwet parish in Lira District has been found dead. The lifeless body of Denis Omara was found dumped just a few meters from Lira Soroti High way on Sunday evening. 

Omara, who hails from Amolatar District, met his death on Sunday afternoon when he left school for shopping. One of his friends told URN on condition of anonymity that they bought a few stuff from town and returned to school but Omara hurriedly returned to town. 

Omara had just reported back for his last semester studies. Jean Muhereza, a close friend to the deceased and head of set 11 where he belonged, describes the deceased as a nice person who didn’t have a grudge with anybody.

Omara, who has been taking care of his siblings following the death of their parents, was attached to Namusale HCIII of Amolatar District Local Government. Patrick Abal, the Chief of Arak Ongoda Clan where Omara belongs, says the matter is before the police and as a clan, saying they are praying for justice.  

  Omara’a body is at Lira Regional Referral Hospital mortuary pending postmortem.  In another development, Tony Ocen, the Bata Sub county NRM Party Registrar in Dokolo District was also found dumped in critical condition at Odokomit trading center along Lira Kamdini high way this morning.

Ocen was discovered around 4:30 am by revelers leaving Front Page Lounge, a popular hangout place in Lira Town. His legs were tied with ropes. He was rushed to Ronam Clinic for treatment.
