Five Killed in Bundibugyo Accident

According to Muga, two people riding on a motorcycle were also injured in the accident.
 An accident along Fortportal-Bundibugyo road has claimed the lives of five people and injured two others. The accident occurred on Wednesday evening at Butama village, a few kilometers from Bundibugyo town.

 

 

Bakari Muga, the Rwenzori Regional Police publicist identifies the dead as Zalimon Karago, Samuel Misika, Nason Misika, Absolom Kasiribwe and Samuel Byaruhanga, all from Kasese district.  

 

 

He says the five were killed after the Fuso truck registration number UAR 673J they were on board, failed to break at a sharp corner and overturned.

 

 

The truck was transporting coffee from Bundibugyo to Kampala. The newly constructed Bundibugyo road has dozens of sharp corners due to the terrain of the area.

 

 

According to Muga, two people riding on a motorcycle were also injured in the accident. They were rushed to Bundibugyo hospital for treatment.

 

 

Muga appeals to truck drivers to abide by the traffic rules and regulations. URN was unable to speak to the relatives of the deceased.
