They were shot dead during a fight between the security forces and the raiders at a protected kraal in Kakamar Sub county. The incident happened last night at 10:00 pm according to security sources in Kaabong.
Five people including two civilians have been killed in a night raid in Kaabong district on Friday.
Security sources believe the attack was carried
out by wrong elements from neighboring Kotido district. The incident

Residents have identified the civilians as 31-year-old
Loukwa and 13-year-old Lonyang, residents of Kanakora village Kitelore Parish.
According to the RDC Kaabong, John Rex Achilla three cattle
rustlers were also killed in the battle with the LDUs providing security to the
kraal that was attacked by the attackers.
They were shot dead during a fight between the security

Achilla said some raiders, however, managed to escape with
10 – 15 heads of cattle and are currently being tracked by the UPDF.
According to the RDC this is the fifth raid in Kaabong since
Monday. He says the UPDF and LDUs have always defeated and repulsed the rustlers in each attempt.
Keem Modo, a resident of Kanakora in Kakamar says another
boy aged around 10 years was injured and is receiving treatment from Kaabong hospital. The Kaabong LC 5 Chairperson Mark Abuku told URN that the
rustlers the district has registered several raids since this week started.
On Wednesday, cattle rustlers attacked a protected kraal in
Sidok Sub County and shot dead an LDU before taking off.
The UPDF spokesperson Maj. Peter Mugisa said the UPDF was
tracking the cattle rustlers adding that they have the capacity to recover all the stolen
livestock and return them to the owners.
He calls on the community to inform the security personnel
about any security threat immediately for urgent follow up.
