Police in Kitgum has arrested the former District Youth Council Chairperson for the alleged sale of a government motorcycle. Robert Oryema, a resident of Namukora Town Council sold the Yamaha XT motorcycle registration number UG 0533Y belonging to the office of the youth council last year.

Oryema was arrested after confessing to having sold the motorcycle following persistent pressure about the whereabouts of the motorcycle.

Freezer Onek, the current district youth chairperson, says concerns about the whereabouts of the motorcycle stems from reports that three motorcycles and other office equipment were not included in his handover report.

Onek says that Oryema claimed that the motorcycle was grounded and parked in a garage in Namukora town council but to their dismay several efforts to try to trace the motorcycle never yielded positive results.

Oryema told detectives that he sold the motorcycle at 2 Million Shillings to a person identified only as Nyeko a resident of corner mission Cell in the Pandwong division of Kitgum Municipality.
