Former UPC Member Wins Nabilatuk NRM Primaries

Paul Lokol, who was defeated by Remigio Achia in the 2016 general elections for MP Pian County crossed to the NRM party following the creation of Nabilatuk District.

Paul Lokol, a former member of the Uganda People's Congress-UPC party has been elected NRM flag bearer for the district chairperson seat for Nabilatuk district.

Lokol polled 7,314 votes while his closest rival, Churchill Lokoroi Lepera got only 2,279. The others; Thomas Achia Lokee and John Lorot, formerly District Chairperson Nakapiripirit garnered 2,018 and 171 votes respectively.

Lokol, who was defeated by Remigio Achia in the 2016 general elections for MP Pian County crossed to the NRM party following the creation of Nabilatuk District. 

For the Woman MP seat, Sylvia Vicky Awas garnered 5,874 votes. The others; Emma Lokubal and Hadija Adams got 441 and 420 votes respectively.

The Electoral Commission is yet to set the date for the elections of District Chairpersons and Woman Member of Parliament for Nabilatuk and six other new districts that became operational in July.
