They are alleged to have raided the home of Anatoli Barongo, a resident of the same area on Thursday and hacked him to death.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson has confirmed the arrest and detention of the suspects.
The police
in Kibaale have arrested four people on allegations of killing a 38-year-old
man.
The suspects have only been identified as Andrew, Ntemwe, Kairu, and Sunday, all
residents of Kijungu village in Bubango sub-county. They are alleged to have raided the home of
Anatoli Barongo, a resident of the same area on Thursday and hacked him to
death.
Peter Habasa, the LCI Chairperson says that though residents responded to an
alarm by Barongo, it was too late to save his life. He says when residents rushed to his house,
the assailants had already fled to an unknown destination.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson says since then, police
launched investigations into the killing of the deceased and managed to
arrest the four suspects on Friday.
According to Hakiza, police also recovered three blood-stained pangas from the
suspects that are believed to have been used to kill Barongo.
The suspects are currently being detained at Kibaale Police Station.
