More than four people are feared dead in an accident along
Bunyangabu-Kasese road.
The accident that happened at 1810 hrs involved a lorry that was carrying cement from Kampala and a tipper lorry carrying stones on a slope before Rwimi River in Rwimi town council of Bunyangabu District.
Both vehicles were crashed beyond recognition and four bodies were lying near the wreckage.
According to one traffic officer who was at the Rwimi security check point, the driver of the lorry apparently failed tp brake before running through their security check point and ramming into an
incoming tipper lorry.
Dustan Musinguzi, another eye witness, says there were no attempts to carry out any immediate rescue as UPDF personnel who were manning the check point stopped people from accessing the scene.
He says more people could have died since most transporters dealing in sand and stones move with a lot of casual labourers.
By the time of filing this story traffic police had just
arrived at the scene with the UPDF personnel trying to retrieve more bodies and
finding persons who could be alive.
