Police have shot Ashraf Saif-llah Kasirye, one of the founders of Ghetto TV.

He was hit in Kyabakuza trading center in the outskirts of Masaka Municipality this morning during a scuffle between security and NUP supporters who were cheering their presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine on his way to Lwengo district. 

Kyagulanyi was involved in cat-and-mouse- chase with security in Masaka town when he drove through after attending the Sunday morning Mass at Kitovu Cathedral.

Kasirye, who was traveling with Kyagulanyi in the same motor vehicle, was hit in the head leading to severe bleeding, according to eyewitnesses.

Gonzaga Mitimbo Kagumba, a political assistant to the Masaka Municipality MP, Mathias Mpuuga says Kasirye is in critical condition and has been rushed to Masaka Regional Referral Hospital to save his life. 

A statement on the NUP Facebook page, says Kasirye is in bad shape. According to reports, NTV reporter, Ali Mivule is also nursing an injured leg after being hit by a teargas canister.
