According to Ssenkumbi, the suspect is being held at Masaka Central Police station as investigations are ongoing. He says Kaheru has already been interrogated to ascertain the motive behind the mobilisation and youth recruitment in Rakai.
He says they are also closely following clues that the youths are being recruited for rebel activities. However, Sophie Nabbosa, the Go-forward Coordinator in Greater Masaka Region has rubbished the accusations against Kaheru.
According to Nabbosa, the arrest of Kaheru was politically motivated to disorganize all pro-change groups. She explains that Kaheru was arrested on Saturday as he was preparing to set off for Kampala to swear a fresh affidavit supporting the presidential election petition filed by former presidential candidate, Amama Mbabazi.
