Government Calls For Investigations into Abuse of Ugandans in Iraq

Audio 1

Government has called for an investigation into alleged abuse of Ugandans working in Iraq.

The calls for investigation follow press reports which indicated that Ugandans who were formally recruited to guard US installations in Iraq were being sodomised and physically abused by the United States soldiers in Iraq.

Press reports claim that some Ugandans were beaten after they complained about payments.

International Affairs State Minister, Okello Oryem, described the allegations as gruesome and an abuse of human rights.

He says that Government is planning to make a formal complaint to the United States Government and wants the culprits punished.
