Gov’t Distributes Iron Sheets to Newly Created Sub Counties in Hoima

The iron sheets were distributed to the sub-counties of Bombo, Kijongo, Kapapi, Kiganja, Kisukuma and Kyabisagazi in Kigorobya county as well as Buraru and Kabale sub-counties in Bugahya county. Each sub county received 50 iron sheets.

Government has distributed 800 iron sheets to kickstart the construction of headquarters for the newly created sub-counties in Hoima district.

The iron sheets were distributed to the sub-counties of Bombo, Kijongo, Kapapi, Kiganja, Kisukuma and Kyabisagazi in Kigorobya county as well as Buraru and Kabale sub-counties in Bugahya county. Each sub county received 50 iron sheets.

These areas which were carved out of Kigorobya, Buseruka and Kyabigambire Sub Counties in 2018, became operational on July 1, 2019.

Bunyoro affairs State Minister Ernest Kiiza who delivered the iron sheets on Friday evening explained that the newly created sub-counties need extra support to fully start operations. He says that a number of new administrative units are experiencing difficulty because they have no offices.

Kigorobya County MP David Karubanga applauded the government for the donation and cautioned area leaders against diverting the iron sheets from their intended purpose.

Muhereza Aliguma, who is caretaking Bombo sub-county says this is a good initiative that will see them effectively run their operations to deliver quality services to the citizens.

Robert Mugisa, a resident of Bombo sub-county says the donation is an indication of government support to the sub-counties to extend services closer to the people.

Robert Mwangu, who is caretaking the newly created Buraru sub-county is optimistic that the created sub-counties will improve and extend services to all residents.
