Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson has confirmed the brutal murder of the Guest House Manager to URN.
The police in Hoima are hunting
for a group of people who stabbed a Guesthouse manager to death.
The deceased has been identified
as Cleophas Mwesige 30, a manager at Colleague Guesthouse and a resident of
Nyamasoga village, Kigaga parish in Kabaale sub-county, Hoima district. The
incident occurred on Thursday night at Nyamasoga Trading Centre.
Available information indicates that on the fateful day, after
attending to his clients, Mwesige slept in one of the rooms that had been
allocated to him within the guesthouse. However, his colleagues waited for him to wake up the next day in vain.
They later realized that the door to his room had been locked from
the outside and his phone had also been switched off. James Kisembo, a resident of
Nyamasoga says that they became suspicious and reported the matter to area leaders who later alerted the police.
He adds that later, the residents together
with the police broke the door to Mwesige’s room and found him lying dead, and, according to Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, the deceased was severely stabbed in the chest and
his left hand.
A subsequent postmortem examination revealed that the
deceased succumbed to excessive bleeding. According to Hakiza, police have
initiated investigations into the matter.
