Mugasa, the Incumbent Hoima City Mayor has lost her bid to contest for the seat
on the NRM ticket. Mugasa lost the NRM party primaries to her rival Brian Kaboyo after securing only 8,459 votes in polls held on Friday.

For Hoima
district, Kadir Kirungi won his bid to contest for
the same seat in 2021 general elections after defeating his closest rival Vincent Muhumuza Savana, the Hoima district NRM Vice-Chairperson. Kirungi
garnered 20,840 votes against Savana’s 14,377 votes.
Musa Isingoma, who also
contested for the same seat came third with 572 votes while James Mugenyi Kiriti, the former Deputy Resident District Commissioner of Kyankwanzi emerged in the fourth position with 405 votes.
In Kagadi
district the Incumbent LCV Chairperson Stephen Byaruhanga Mfashingambo lost the
NRM Flag to his closest rival Yosia Bahunga Ndibwami. Ndibwami had 54,247 votes against Mfashingambos’s 43,186 votes. Ndibwami was
declared the winner by the Kagadi NRM District registrar John Chrisestom Mikisa.
