A 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his son in a human sacrifice ritual. Andrew Twinomugisha is suspected to have connived with a trader from Ishongororo in Ibanda District to kill his one-year-old son. It is alleged that the murder took place on Thursday, September 24th. Ali Muyirima, the Southwestern Regional Police Commander, says Twinomugisha sold his son for four million shillings to the trader, Lasto Tumwesigye. Muyirima says Twinomugisha was fully aware that his son was to be beheaded and his body used for human sacrifice. The case came to the attention of the police when the child's mother, Penninah Asiimwe, reported her son missing. The police and local council officials in Ishongororo mounted a search for the boy, discovering that he was last seen with his father. Andrew Twinomugisha and Lasto Tumwesigye were arrested over the weekend. The police are concluding investigations with the intention of charging them with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
