Aggrey Natuhamya, the incumbent Kamwenge district LCV chairperson, has been defeated.

Natuhamya, who was a National Resistance Movement - NRM candidate got 18,973 votes and was defeated by Joseph Karungi who polled 37,881 votes. In last year’s NRM party primaries Natuhamya defeated Karungi.

But Karungi was unconvinced by the results which forced him to come back and run as an independent.

Karungi says he will work with his fellow leaders in the district to ensure better service delivery for the electorate in all sectors.

In Kyegegwa district, the incumbent LCV Chairperson, John Kisoke Byamukama was re-elected. Byamukama was competing against three independent contenders.

According to the results declared by the Kyegegwa Returning Officer, Evelyn Wandera, on Thursday, Byamukama garnered 25,375 votes and was followed by Oscar Karimungabo with 9,843 votes.

His opponent during the NRM party primaries, William Ngabu Kwemara, came third with 2,601 votes while Nelson Mandela Turyashemererwa polled 874.

In his manifesto, Kisoke says he will ensure a better Kyegegwa with better schools, roads, and health facilities.
