Independent Wins Masindi Youth Council Elections

The Masindi district youth council elections, have been won by Badru Mugabi, who stood as an independent candidate.
Mugabi was declared winner after he polled 130 votes, beating the NRM's Godfrey Ndihamwe, with 67 votes and FDC's Godfrey Wamani, who polled only nine votes.
Speaking soon after his victory was announced, Mugabi said that he was determined to unite the youths and represent their interests without discrimination, in regard to political affiliation.
The Masindi District returning officer, Deo Natukunda, says that the elections were free and fair.
In Mbale, FDC candidates Neumbe Rebecca and Bikara Solomon have also been declared winners of the district LC 5 council youth elections.
Both Neumbe and Bikara polled 189 votes to beat the NRM candidates, Makoya Farida, and Mike Manyifu.
The Mbale District returning officer, Salim Kizindo declared the two, as duly elected councilors to represent the youths in the LC 5 council.
