The 20 year old woman identified as Lillian Mutesi is currently receiving treatment in Kamuli hospital.
The Nabwigulu village native was alerted on Tuesday morning that her husband Bernard Kaloba had spent the night in a lodge. Kaloba had reportedly checked into the lodge in the trading centre the previous night with a woman.
Mutesi reportedly managed to find her husband in the act with the woman.
The angry Mutesi then stormed out of the lodge, bought paraffin and a matchbox and set the lower part of her body on fire.
Her shocked husband and his lover managed to escape from the lodge in the confusion and sympathesizers tried to save Mutesi's life.
Dr. David Mwanga, the director Kamuli Hospital, told URN that Mutesi could be referred to Jinja regional referral hospital because of her condition is very grave.
Aggrey Bituli, the LC1 Nabwigulu village, said that Kaloba is well known for being a philanderer. He said that Kaloba is fond of picking up prostitutes and neglecting his wife of three children.
