The Isingiro District Covid-19 Taskforce has agreed to revive the
sub-county Taskforce committee due to a surge in the number of infected people.
Some of the task force committees revived include Kikagate border task force
Bugango Border task Force and Nakivale refugees task force which is monitoring
Kabahinda Isolation centre.
Other taskforces have been allowed to open up at Sub counties and parish level.
The taskforces were disbanded following a reduction in the number of covid-19 cases.
Herbert Muhangi the chairperson of Isingiro District Covid-19 Taskforce
says that the task force will be given terms of reference aimed at enforcing
the COVID-19 presidential directives and ensuring compliance to Ministry of
Health set Standard Operating Procedures- SOPs.

Covid-19 Taskforce says much as the taskforces are helpful they are faced with
a lot of challenges especially having a large jurisdiction with less manpower and
resources to implement their responsibilities.
He however says that out of the ten only three members of the task
force, the GISO, OC Police and Chairperson LC III are capable of enforcing the
guidelines.
