Jinja Police Issue Terror Alert

The police in Jinja are warning that al-Qaida-linked Somali insurgents that carried out an attack in July last year may attempt to strike again between the 12th and 15th of May 2011.
The police in Jinja are warning that al-Qaida-linked Somali insurgents that carried out an attack in July last year may attempt to strike again between the 12th and 15th of May 2011.

 

Speaking to Journalists on Monday, Samson Lubega, the regional police spokesperson, said that police have received reliable information that the al-Shabab militia group has threatened to attack public areas such as taxi parks, markets, recreational areas and major government buildings.

 

Lubega is calling for extra vigilance amid the latest threats.
