According to sources from the Municipality, the money was meant of works during financial years 2011/12 and 2012 /13 but work was not done. The roads remain in a bad state.
The failure to explain the whereabouts of the money resulted into the suspension of road funds to the Municipality by the Central government.

Bujara already has another criminal charge brought against him. He is accused of unlawfully selling off White Horse Inn Limited land to businessman Amos Nzeyi at 90 million shillings.
Bujara had earlier skipped a Monday meeting this week that sought for explanation of his conduct. The meeting was adjourned to November 20, 2013 because of his absence.
Before his arrest, Bujara had denied the charge of unlawfully selling land. He said that the buyer had even been provided with a receipt.
His arrest came shortly after Kabale Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Mathew Moses Elayo complained to the press that he was tired of civil servants who do not want to use their offices responsibly.
Elayo had not specified which officer had failed to use his office responsibly.
