She was speaking in Moroto district this afternoon while commissioning the regional offices for the Office of the Auditor General, now located along Rupa Road in Moroto Municipality. The 3 billion Shillings facility was funded by the Financial Management and Accountability Programme FINMAP. It is the eleventh regional office for the Auditor General.
The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has decried the degenerating moral values among public servants across the country. She says that moral decay has given rise to cases of corruption within government institutions, a trend that is grossly affecting service delivery across the country.
She was speaking in Moroto district this afternoon while commissioning the regional offices for the Office of the Auditor General, now located along Rupa Road in Moroto Municipality. She observed that lives of the local people in the country are at risk with the increasing level of corruption in government institutions and tasked the Auditor General to step-up the fight against impunity in government institutions.

The Auditor General John Muwanga says the office will cover all the eight districts of Karamoja including the newly created Nabilatuk district. He notes that the establishment of the Office of the Auditor General in Karamoja was to help reduce the cost of operations.

Stella Atyang, the Woman MP for Moroto district urged the Auditor General staff to help investigate corruption issues in the region. She says that many of her constituents are ‘sitting on corruption issues' but fear to report to authorities.
