Kagadi Pupil Drowns in River Nguse

13-year-old Sulaiman Nizeimana drowned in River Nguse around 7:30pm on Monday evening while trying to cross together with his young brother, Ismail Champion.

A pupil of Zahura Primary school in Kagadi district has drowned in River Nguse.  

13-year-old Sulaiman Nizeimana drowned in River Nguse around 7:30pm on Monday evening while trying to cross together with his young brother, Ismail Champion.  

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, says the minors had been sent by their father to collect Timber across the river.        

He however, says Nizeimana was swept away by the running water when they tried crossing back.

This is not the first time a minor is drowning in the same river this year. 

In August, 10-year-old Grace Tushabe, a pupil of Buharura Primary school in Kiryanga sub-county drowned in the same river while swimming with her colleagues. She was swept away by running water.
