Kajjansi Health Center IV Lacks Ambulance and General Ward.

Kajjansi health center IV in Wakiso district is struggling to transport patients to referral hospitals due to lack of an Ambulance.

Dr. Adam Mbayi, in Charge of Kajjansi health center IV, says that ever since the health center was elevated from a health center III to a health center IV they don’t have an ambulance and this has affected them in transporting patients to the referral hospitals like Mulago and Kawempe.

Dr. Mbayi added that the people with patients provide the means of transport and mainly use taxis to take their patients.

Dr. Mbayi told this the Wakiso district chairperson Matia Lwanga Bwanika who was on a monitoring tour of the newly constructed theater at Kajjansi health center which was constructed by Infectious Disease Institutes and medical equipment was donated by Citibank and coasted worth over 900 million shillings that they now get a lot of patients who come from Entebbe to use this facility because the ministry took over Entebbe grade B hospital for covid-patients.

The Wakiso district health officer Dr. Mathias Lugoloobi also added that the health center does not have a general ward where they can put patients who are from the theater and the small ward they have is used partly for keeping the records of the health center.

Matia Lwanga Bwanika, the Wakiso district chairperson says that the health center is going to help many people around Entebbe and asked residents to utilize the facility and also promised to increase the number of health workers in this health center.
