Kampala Queens Defeats Tooro Queens 2-1

Kampala Queens have increased their chances of qualifying for the FUFA women super league-FWSL semi-finals after defeating Tooro Queens 2-1 at the Njeru based FUFA technical centre on Friday.

Kampala’s two goals were scored by their team captain, Fauzia Najjemba whereas Tooro’s only goal was scored by Cissy Kabarwani.

Tooro’s head coach, Rodgers Ayesiga attributed the loss to poor match officiating which he claims to have dampened the girls’ spirits to play better football.

Group One is comprised of five teams namely; She-Mak which has zero points in three games, Kawempe Muslim ladies are currently topping the group with nine points in three games, Uganda Martyrs and Kampala Queens both have six points tie after three games whereas, Tooro is in the fourth position with three points.

However, Ayesiga says that depending on the results earned by other clubs during their final games, his side still has some chances to qualify for the semis.

 On his part, Kampala’s head coach, Shafic Mutebi says that his team creates few chances which affected their score sheets.

Mutebi further says that they suffered a goal deficit after losing to Kawempe 0-4 in their first game therefore, qualifying for the semis will depend on their ability to fill this gap by scoring at least 2-0 in tomorrow’s game.
