Apollo Muganzi, the Engineer Kamwenge Town council is in trouble over shoddy work. Muganzi was arrested on Wednesday by Charles Babwetera, acting Commissioner Anti-corruption at the CID headquarterson the orders of Rev. Fr. Simon Lokodo, the state minister for ethics and integrity. It came after the minister visited Kamwenge town council on Wednesday on a fact finding mission following reporter of rampant corruption in the district. During the visit, the minister toured various government institutions where corruption cases have been reported.

Trouble for Muganzi started after he failed to defend himself over the shoddy work cited at Kamwenge town council administration block. The minister was angered by the fact that the roof of the administration block, which was commissioned in 2006 is already falling apart.  Lokodo URN that he couldn't let the perpetrators of the shoddy work go unpunished because the roof would collapse and kill people in the near future. Lokodo also ordered the arrest of Geoffrey Byamukama, the Kamwenge town council LC 3 who has been missing from office for the last 6 months.

It is alleged that Byamukama mortgaged one of the town council pieces of land to secure a person loan before he disappeared.  The arrest of Muganzi comes only a few days after he was acquitted by the anti corruption court together with Musinguzi Bahemuka, the former acting Kamwenge town clerk over allegations of embezzling unspecified sums of money under the road fund.
