Kamyuka's Canada Defeats Team Uganda In ICC T20 World Qualifiers

Uganda’s chances of qualifying for the ICC T20 World competition were dented this afternoon when they lost to by 44 runs in a game played at the Abu Dhabi Oval 1.

Uganda’s chances of qualifying for the ICC T20 World competition were dented this afternoon when they lost to by 44 runs in a game played at the Abu Dhabi Oval 1.

 

The Canadians who have two Ugandan born players Henry Osinde and Kenneth bated firs to put on 137 runs. Jimmy Hansra scored 58 runs not out, while Ashish Bagai picked 40 runs for Canada.

 

On reply Team Uganda again showed poor bating on the day with Roger Mukasa managing to score no run, while Arthur Kyobe who was in good form in the win against Italy yesterday picked only one.

 

Skipper Davis Karashani scored 28 runs before getting bowled out by Jeremy Gordon. Phillimon Mukobe was another player who picked a reasonable score at 21 runs before being run out by Jimmy Hansha. Jonathan Ssebanja had 20 runs.

 

Team Uganda will return to action on Thursday with a game against USA before facing Ireland on Friday. The best two teams in each group will qualify for the semi-finals.
