The Police in Kapelebyong Central Police Station (CPS) are investigating circumstances under which two females were killed on Tuesday.

The duo, both residents of Aditetau village in Kapelebyong district were burnt beyond recognition on Tuesday August 6, 2024 when one of the family members reportedly set their house ablaze.
It's alleged that on the fateful day, around 2:00pm at Aditetau village, the suspect identified as William Otukoi, after eating lunch prepared by the biological mother Asele Grace (now deceased) locked the mother and the young sister, Adeke (also deceased) in their grass thatched house and set the house ablaze resulting into the death of the pair.
After setting the house on fire, the suspect reportedly vanished from the village. He bodies of the deceased were discovered by residents who came in later to try to put off the fire.
According to the East Kyoga Regional Police Spokesman, Edison Obukulem, two burnt bodies have been delivered to Amuria General hospital for postmortem.
He notes that the case has since been reported to Kapelebyong CPS vide CRB: 226/2024 by Aporu Charles, 43, the LC1 Chairperson of Aditetau village.
"Police then responded and was led by a team of police officers commanded by DPC Kapelebyong one Sp Namutunzi, D/CID/O and other personnel visited the crime scene. While there, several statements were recorded from relevant witnesses," he said in a statement.
Obukulem has urged the members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to provide information to the relevant authorities including police to help in the arrest of the suspect.
