Court heard on August 10, 2024, in Kogere Cell, Kasese Municipality, Kasita laced a rolex chapatti with poison, which he allegedly gave to his stepchildren, Caroline Mbambu, 8, and Catherine Kabugho, 10.
Renowned herbalist, "Dr.” Hajji Abdul Kasita, has been further remanded on allegations of murder. He appeared before Kasese Grade One Magistrate Isha Alinda on Wednesday.
Court heard that on August 10, 2024, in Kogere Cell, Kasese Municipality, Kasita laced a Rolex chapatti with poison, which he allegedly gave to his stepchildren, Caroline Mbambu, 8, and Catherine Kabugho, 10.
Both children complained of stomachaches later and were pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Postmortem reports confirmed that the children had ingested poison. During the hearing, the magistrate suspended proceedings due to the absence of the state attorney.
As a result, Kasita has been remanded until October 15, 2024, when the case will be revisited.
