An ambulance
belonging to the Kasese Woman Member of Parliament Florence Kabugho on Friday caught fire. The incident occurred on Friday at Rutoto along Rubirizi-Mbarara in Rubirizi District.
The
ambulance was donated by Kabugho in 2021 to help women access health
services, especially in hard-to-reach areas.
Information
obtained indicated that the ambulance Registration number UBK 150G was
transporting a patient from Kagando Hospital in Kasese to Mbarara regional
referral hospital for specialized treatment.
The patient
and the other two occupants who were caretakers were rescued before they secured another ambulance
and proceeded to Mbarara.
The Rwenzori

their counterparts in Rwizi to get details on the possible cause of the fire
outbreak.
In May last
year, an ambulance belonging to Bwera General Hospital burst into flames at
Yerya in Kibito Sub County along Fort Portal-Kasese road in Bunyangabu district
killing two occupants.
The Ambulance was coming from Kasese towards Fort Portal
