Kasese Woman MP Loser Calls for Vote Recount

Amon Mbusa, the Kasese NRM District registrar announced Kabugho Marylyn as the winner with 40,791 votes against Baleke’s 40,465 votes.

The loser in the NRM party primaries for Kasese District Woman MP Sarah Ithungu Baleke has rejected the results citing irregularities and voter bribery.  

She has opted to petition the NRM party Electoral Commission demanding for a recount or re-election.  

Amon Mbusa, the Kasese NRM District registrar announced Kabugho Marylyn as the winner with 40,791 votes against Baleke’s 40,465 votes.

According to Baleke her results from some Sub counties in Busongora North were not tallied.

Baleke says she has decided to petition the NRM EC for action.

However, Kabugho disputed allegations of bribery.   

The other candidates in the race were Esther Masika Kimbwembwe, Grace Biira, Doreen Biira Lhusenge, Jessica Ithungu Muluba, Sedress Masika Kalengyo and Norah Ithungu Matsande.

In Bukonzo County West, Uganda’s Ambassador to China Dr Chrispus Kiyonga defeating Capson Sausi and Milton Wangalima.
