He also expects Kyagulanyi to open up the lakes whose access to local fishermen was curtailed by the NRM government
Many of the people of Kassanda did not go to their gardens today as they started their wait for NUP Presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi early in the morning.
However security has been tightened as residents of Kassanda are in a state of high excitement ahead of Kyagulanyi's arrival.
The residents who started gathering as early as 10am claim
that there was simply no way they could not stay in their gardens yet Kyagulanyi was scheduled to
campaign in Kassanda.
However, the police and military personnel have been
deployed to ensure that people do not gather in big numbers as per the
guidelines issued by the electoral commission to prevent the spread of covid-19
pandemic in the ongoing presidential and parliamentary campaigns.
A number of anti-riot police vehicles are patrolling the
entire town of Kassanda as they wait for the candidate to hold his rally at
Kalwana play ground in Kalwana sub county.

Segujja Francis a resident of Busweka village also in
Kassanda says that like many other residents, he abandoned work on his garden
for today to attend Kyagulanyi’s rally because he loves him.
He says that people are ready to show their love for Kyagulanyi
no matter whether force security officers apply to disperse them.

Tamale Aloysius, also a resident of Kasanda believes that it
is the people in rural parts of the country who are overwhelmingly showing
support to Kyagulanyi the-singer-turned-politician. He say that the people in
villages have suffered a lot at the hands of the current government which has not
extended services to them.

Meanwhile, the police are currently camping at Mwasabigo
swamp which separates Kassanda central business district from Kalwana where
Kyagulanyi is expected to hold his rally at 3.00pm. But the police are not stopping
any person from accessing the venue yet, at 3.00 pm.
