Ugandan giants KCCA FC are bottom of Group A in the Total Confederations Cup after falling 2-1 to Rivers United FC in Port Harcourt, Nigeria last night.

The loss by 10-man KCCA FC team and a 2-1 win for Club Africain over FUS Rabat in Tunis later at night means all teams now have six points, although coach Mike Hillary Mutebi's side has conceded more goals.

A disjointed KCCA FC backline let the Nigerian side score early in the first 15 minutes through Bernard Ovoke and Fredrick Obomate before Geoffrey Sserunkuma pulled one back at the stroke of half time.

Later in the second half defender Habib Kavuma was sent off for a second bookable offence. But Mutebi has said with one game to play against FUS Rabat in Kampala and the last one away to Club Africain, he still fancies the team's chances of getting to the next stage.

“I am disappointed that we lost the game, but happy that my boys fought back strongly and settled after conceding early goals. We need to go back to the drawing board to prepare better for the two group matches," he added.

KCCA FC has scored five goals in the group stage and conceded seven with the five coming from away games. Group A table leaders FUS Rabat have scored six and conceded four, while Club Africain are the highest scoring team at seven goals.
