Kampala Capital City Authority has today announced that the club
has parted ways with head coach Mike Mutebi.
The development comes after rumours a fallout with the executive board after the coach’s alleged
mistreatment of senior players. According
to a statement released by club, Mutebi has agreed to terminate his
contract with the club.
“KCCA FC and the Manager, Mike Hillary Mutebi have today,
the 29th of March 2021 agreed by mutual consent to terminate his employment
with immediate effect”, the statement reads
The gaffer has spent five full years with the Lugogo based
club and the Club. Under his stewardship the club has attained three League titles, two
Uganda Cups, Four Super Cups and One CECAFA Clubs Cup over the last five years
making him the most successful Manager in the Club’s history.
According to the statement released, assistant coach Morley
Byekwaso will taking be full charge of the team as the interim coach.
“The Club recognizes his immense contribution in making
KCCA FC the leading Club in Uganda and wishes him well in his future endeavors,
Morley Byekwaso takes charge of all First Team duties as the Interim Manager
immediately,” further reads the statement
Before joining KCCA FC, Mutebi managed Miracle from 1993
to 1995, KCC from 1996 to 1997, Simba from 1998 to 2003, Maroons from 2007to
2008, and SC Villa in 2011.

managed the National team in 2004
