Kampala Capital City Authority-KCCA Football Club has defeated Jinja-based side BUL FC 3-1 in the Uganda Premier League game played at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

BUL FC had a good display in the opening minutes controlling the possession with midfielders Richard Wandyaka and Captain George Kasonko dominating the ball against KCCA FC.

Although the visitors had the lion’s share of the possession, the creativity in the final third was limited and failed to put any threat against KCCA’s Goalkeeper Derrick Ochan. Towards the end of the first half, KCCA FC utilized their only chance and converted a leading goal through Innocent Wafula.

At the beginning of the second half, the two sides started at a high pace as KCCA FC was looking forward to doubling their lead as BUL also looked for an equalizer. Towards the 68th minute, BUL had an opportunity to strike an equalizer through a penalty but Joseph Semujju’s effort went over the bar.

In the 68th minute, as pressure was mounting on both sides, KCCA FC’s striker Charles Lwanga showed up and scored the second goal for the hosts with a sole run before Davies Kasirye converted the third one in the 77th minute.  Before the end of full-time, Musa Esenu scored a consolation for the visitors which marked the end of the full-time report.

The victory takes KCCA FC to 22 points in games to extend their lead on the table while BUL FC remains on 14 points.

KCCA FC Head coach Morley Byekwaso admitted that his side was outplayed in the opening half, however, they sorted their mistakes during the break.
