Police in Kyankwanzi district have arrested a woman together with her three children for murdering their sibling.

The suspects are Plaxeda Nanyombi, the councilor of Kigando parish, and her children Winfred Tindekye and another only identified as Sande. The other suspect is a minor whose names have been withheld.

It is alleged that Plaxeda Nanyombi and her children connived with Arias Sempiri, a witchdoctor to kill her son, Fred Bagyenyi last week.

George William Mukiibi, Nsambya sub county LC III chairperson says that the disappearance of Bagenyi was brought to the attention of the local authorities by his wife, last week.

He says that as a result local authorities and residents mounted a huge search for the deceased leading to Sempris's shrine.

Mukiibi says that they became suspicious of Sempiri's involvement in the disappearance of Bagenyi when they found items in his shrine stained with blood.

He says that the angry residents arrested Sempiri threatening to lynch him.

According to Mukiibi, when news reached Nanyombi that Sempiri had been arrested she tried to flee, forcing residents to arrest her with her children.

He says that the furious residents started beating up the suspects until they confessed to the murder.

Mukiibi says that the suspects took them to the banana plantation where Bagenyi's mutilated body was exhumed.

He says that Bagenyi and his sibling have been battling in Kiboga magistrate court over a piece of land. Court was due to give its ruling.

Eddie Serunjongi, Kiboga District Police Commander says that the suspects are being held at Kiboga Central Police Station but declines to divulge details.
