Kidnapped Bushenyi Child Found in Masaka

Martial Tumusiime the Greater Bushenyi regional police spokesperson says that the childs mother had gone to the market at the time Mukiiza was kidnapped. Tumusiime says that the police tracked the kidnappers and found them in a rented house in Masaka town where they were arrested from.

A two and a half-year-old child who was kidnapped from Bushenyi district has been found in Masaka district.

The child was kidnapped on Monday from their home in Cell B, Ishaka Division, Ishaka –Bushenyi Municipality.

According to the mother Clair Atuhaire, Isaac Mukiiza was picked by kidnappers who started demanding for a ransom of five million shillings.

Tumusiime says that the police tracked the kidnappers and found them in a rented house in Masaka town where they were arrested from.

The suspects had received an initial deposit of 200,000 shillings from the mother and were waiting for the balance.

Martial adds that the two kidnappers have been arrested and transferred to Bushenyi.

They are Expecdito Tuhaise and Francis Mwetare all residents of Mashenga village in Kitagata town council.

On Monday, police in Isingiro district recovered the body of 14-year- old boy who was kidnapped last week.

Peter Oscar Muhirwe, a senior two student at Kagera secondary school was kidnapped from Kaberebere town council in Isingiro district. His kidnappers contacted his family demanding for ransom of 7 million shillings.

Four suspects have since then been arrested in connection with the incident.
