The suspect has been identified as Charlis Muhanguzi 23 while the deceased is Everist Byamukama 25, both residents of Wairagaza village, Butoole parish in Kyangwali sub county.
Police in Kikuube District have arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his colleague to death.
The suspect has been identified as Charles Muhanguzi while the deceased is Everist Byamukama 25, both residents
of Wairagaza village, Butoole parish in Kyangwali sub-county.
It is alleged that Muhanguzi and Byamukama on Tuesday at around 4 p.m. while in a
bar at Wairagaza trading center picked a quarrel over a yet-to-be-identified
woman.
In the process, Muhanguzi pulled a knife and stabbed Byamukama in the neck and chest.
Byamukama died on
arrival at St.Nicholas Medical Center in Kyangwali sub-county where he had been rushed for medication.
Alex Twesigye, a boda boda rider
and a friend to the deceased told Uganda Radio Network-URN in an interview that on
the fateful day, they were together with the deceased.
He says he left Byamukama in
the bar but later heard him screaming for help and when they rushed, they found
him bleeding profusely. He says though they rushed him for medication, it was too late to save his life.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson says the suspect who is currently being detained at
the Kikuube central police station will be arraigned before court to be charged
with murder.
According to Hakiza, the postmortem report indicates that the deceased succumbed to over-bleeding that resulted from injuries
